Before you watch it, or after, please note that the 300 mile length is somehow misleading, at the first glance.I have no idea where he came up with the 300 mile length, because the bridge in question is 102 miles long.Probably the bridge continues another 200 miles over land, because the video is about the bridge pillars.
The question is really simple : how can the pillars be parallel, when “gravity” pulls everything towards a center, on a curved ball? The pillars should have a slight deviation, to compensate for the curvature, otherwise, the first and the last pillar on a 100 mil long bridge, like the Chinese bridge in question, should be very tall (over 3,000 feet tall), while the pillars in the middle of the same bridge should be under 20 feet tall, with all the pillars in between the middle and the ends, to rise at an incremental rate.
